In 1934, a century after the events of the previous game, Adam Crowley, an occultist and antagonist, has bred a legion of mutant creatures to eradicate the Circle, a group of monster hunters. Herbert Wallace, a patient at Crowley's genetics hospital, escapes armed with an axe. He discovers evidence of Ignatius Blackward's victory over Crowley in a previous encounter. Rescued from a fire by Rachel, the sole survivor of the Circle, they part ways. Wallace ventures to Crowley's castle, only to find Crowley absent, now in Paris. Falling into a chute, Wallace finds a biplane, flying to France. In a cinema, Rachel's note reveals her knowledge of Crowley's plans. Wallace heads to a museum, unaware of Rachel's capture by zombies. Discovering Crowley's blueprints of the Eiffel Tower, Wallace faces zombie attacks, crashing in a graveyard where he finds Rachel's torn shirt. Navigating through a sewer to the Paris underground, Wallace uncovers ancient cult documents leading to the Eiffel Tower. At its peak, he confronts a grotesque creature, using dynamite to defeat it, only to be thrown off the tower. Surviving the fall, Wallace reunites with Rachel, and they depart together. Whether Crowley remains a threat or is vanquished is left uncertain.
